How to reach the workshop team
Our contact form is the main way to reach the team. Send the make and model, registration number, and a brief note about what the vehicle is doing. If the fault comes and goes, explain when it happens, for example at start-up, under load, after rain, or after the vehicle has been parked overnight.
If the job is for a fleet unit, include the depot address, the number of vehicles that need attention, and whether the work is for one fault or several. That helps us route the enquiry to the right person in the workshop and keep the booking details clear.
What to include in the enquiry form
Give enough detail for a technician to understand the fault before the vehicle arrives. A short description helps more than a long story, especially when the issue involves a starter circuit, charging system, CAN bus concern, or a battery drain that only shows up under certain conditions.
- Vehicle make, model, year and registration
- City or area where the vehicle is located
- Warning lights, no-start symptoms, or slow crank details
- Any recent battery change, repair, accident damage, or accessory fitment
- Whether the job needs workshop testing or a mobile call-out
Where we work across Cape Town
V-Auto is based in Montague Gardens and handles workshop work as well as mobile call-outs across Cape Town and nearby areas. We regularly assist clients in Bellville, Milnerton, Somerset West and Paarl, plus Brackenfell and Durbanville when the job suits an on-site visit.
The workshop handles diagnostics, wiring repairs, alternator testing, starter repairs, fuse box faults, earth faults and charging system checks. For vehicles that can stay put, a mobile visit may be the better route, especially when fleet units are parked at a depot or yard.
Jobs we are set up for
Our team handles everyday auto electrical faults as well as harder-to-pin-down problems. That includes parasitic drain checks, battery and charging tests, lighting repairs, trailer wiring, accessory rewiring and starter circuit faults. We also fit trackers and other accessories for fleets and private owners.
- OBD fault code reading and live data checks
- Starter and alternator diagnosis and repair
- Battery drain, earth fault and wiring fault tracing
- CAN bus fault checks and basic network diagnosis
- Tracker and accessory fitting
Fleet work and private vehicles
Liezl handles fleet bookings, while Megan keeps the workshop schedule in order and makes sure the job details are clear before the vehicle comes in. For fleet operators, it helps to mention whether you need one vehicle checked or several units looked at across the week.
Private owners can use the same form for a single car, bakkie or van. If the vehicle is a non-starter, note whether the engine cranks, clicks, or stays dead, as that points the technician towards the starter, battery, alternator or a wiring fault.
People who will see your message
Your enquiry may be handled by Vuyani, Anele, Ridwaan, Megan, Sipho or Liezl depending on the work involved. The workshop team uses the details you send to decide whether the vehicle needs testing in Montague Gardens or a mobile visit in the field.
- Wiring repairs and circuit tracing
- Starter and alternator faults
- Battery drain and charging issues
- Tracker, trailer wiring and accessory fitting
Send what you know, even if it is only a rough fault note. Small details such as damp weather, a recent jump-start, or lights that dim at idle often point the technician in the right direction.
