Workshop Directions

V-Auto works from Montague Gardens in Cape Town, with mobile call-outs for fleet operators and private owners across the Western Cape. Use the contact details to plan a workshop drop-off, collection, or a booked visit to the base.

Workshop Directions

Getting to the Montague Gardens base

Our workshop base is in Montague Gardens, close to the main industrial roads that link Parow, Paarden Eiland and Century City. Drivers coming from Milnerton usually use Montague Drive or Koeberg Road, while traffic from Bellville and Durbanville often comes in through the N1 side and the industrial routes around the west of the city.

If you are bringing in a vehicle for diagnostics or auto electrical work, plan for enough time to park, hand over the keys and share the fault history. A clean battery and charging test often starts with a short road note from the driver, then the technician checks live data, fault codes and wiring points at the vehicle.

What to bring with the vehicle

A good handover saves a second visit for missing details. Bring the service history if it helps, the spare key if the vehicle uses one, and any notes on what changed before the fault started. If the issue is intermittent, tell us when it appears, whether it is after rain, after a wash, or only once the engine is hot.

  • Vehicle registration details
  • One or two spare fuses if the vehicle has a known fuse issue
  • Tracker, accessory or trailer wiring details where fitted
  • Any dashboard warnings or symptoms already noted

Fleet units can also arrive with a driver report. That is useful for starters, alternators, parasitic drain checks and CAN bus fault checks, because the sequence of the fault matters just as much as the code itself.

Drop-off steps that keep the handover tidy

When you arrive, park where the team can move the vehicle safely into the work bay. Tell us whether the job is a quick battery drain check, a deeper wiring repair, or a starter and charging system fault that may need longer tracing. If the vehicle has been jump-started recently, mention that too.

  • Switch off accessories before handing over
  • Leave alarm and immobiliser notes if relevant
  • Tell us about any recent battery replacement
  • Point out added accessories, lights or tracker units

These small details help the workshop start in the right place. On many jobs the first step is still the basics, battery condition, earth points, charging output and the fuse box before any deeper circuit tracing begins.

Collection, return visits and mobile call-outs

Some faults are better handled at the workshop, while others suit a mobile visit at a yard, depot or parking area. Our mobile call-out work covers fleet operators and private owners across Cape Town, Bellville, Milnerton, Somerset West and Paarl, as well as Brackenfell and Durbanville by arrangement.

For collection, make sure the vehicle is accessible and the keys are ready for the driver or technician. If a workshop return is needed after a wiring repair or alternator repair, we will keep the handover clear so the next step is straightforward.

Where directions matter most on a fault job

Directions matter because electrical faults often arrive with time pressure. A flat battery at a depot in Milnerton, a starter circuit fault in Bellville, or trailer wiring trouble in Paarl all need different access and parking conditions. Coastal humidity can also leave corrosion on connectors, earth points and lighting plugs, so the vehicle route into the workshop should be clean and easy.

For service vehicles and mixed fleets, tell us whether the unit must leave the site under its own power. That helps with planning if the job involves alternator repairs, charging system repairs, fuse box faults or CAN bus checks on a vehicle that has already shown warning lights.

Before you head out

Use our contact form to share the vehicle details, the area you are coming from and the fault symptoms you want checked. Megan and the team use that information to line up the right bay, the right tools and the right technician for the job.

If the job involves wiring repairs, accessory fitting or tracker installation, mention any added equipment already in the vehicle. Tidy notes at the start help the workshop move through the work without extra back-and-forth at the vehicle gate.

Diagnostics and wiring questions

Can I bring a vehicle in for fault code reading only?

Yes. We can read OBD fault codes, check live data and then decide whether the next step is battery testing, wiring tracing or a circuit repair.

Do you handle mobile call-outs in the Western Cape?

Yes. We work from Montague Gardens and carry out mobile call-outs for Cape Town, Bellville, Milnerton, Somerset West, Paarl, Brackenfell and Durbanville by arrangement.

What should I mention when sending the vehicle in?

Tell us about the symptoms, any recent battery work, jump-starts, added accessories, trailer wiring or tracker units, plus the area you are coming from.

Warning light on the dash? Book a diagnostic scan.
